What happens if your tree is stuck in transit?

FIRSTLY, DON’T PANIC!

We want to assure you that our citrus trees travel very well. We pack them so they can make a long journey. The trees don’t mind being in their cardboard boxes at all, and have been known to happily travel around Australia ( thanks Australia post, not) for weeks, and pop out as happy as the day they went in.

We understand this is no consolation when you are eagerly waiting on your precious trees. This little note is  to reassure you that the trees are going to be fine they do travel happily and well.

THEY’RE ON THEIR WAY

The trees leave us on a Friday Morning. Regardless of the day you ordered, the trees depart on a Friday. They move through the Aus Post system over a weekend and usually arrive in that following week, dependent on your location.

Once they have left us we can’t alter, redirect (or as someone suggested, unpack and water them) they are in transit and making their journey to you.

You’ll receive a tracking number via the AU POST system and from the Citrus Men System.

CITRUS ARE STURDY:

They will not die in transit, even if they have been in the boxes for weeks. This is because the plant is a tree, with a built in storage system, trunk, stems and roots. As the time passes the tree will slowly shut down. It goes into a kind of citrus coma, you may lose some leaves, that is a natural response if the tree has been in the box for a length of time. The tree will come back to full condition.

When the tree arrives treat it as the card in the box details and all will be well. Your citrus tree will be happy to now be in your care, it may sulk for a little time but it will buck up and begin to flourish.

AUSTRALIA POST.

We use Australia Post for shipping as they deliver to all addresses; generally they are pretty good and we rarely have issues. During this pandemic time of COVID the stress and overload has created some unusual and sometimes lengthy delays. Again it’s random and thankfully not ongoing.

The tracking number we offer you is all that we have by way of information, despite what Au Post may say to you. Australia Post do not offer us, Citrus Men, as a customer, any support in locating parcels, estimation of eventual arrival, or communication directly with a manager or officer. It is not possible to escalate or follow up with them as there is no one to do that with.
